"Not really the gift I was hoping for"
I bought this for my dad as a gift, and honestly?? It was kind of a letdown. He wasn’t super impressed with the coffee, and the whole set felt smaller than I expected when it arrived. For the price, I thought it would feel a little more special, you know?? He tried a couple of the bags and just didn’t really care for them. It’s not terrible, but I probably wouldn’t buy it again as a gift.

"Subscription just wasn’t flexible enough"
I really wanted to like Bean Box, but the subscription setup got frustrating fast. The coffee itself seemed promising, but managing the plan felt like more work than it should’ve been.

Skipping a shipment or changing the delivery date was WAY more annoying than I expected. I don’t always go through coffee at the same pace every month, so I just wanted an easy way to adjust things without clicking around forever or feeling locked in.

For the price, I expected more control over pausing, moving, or tweaking shipments. In the end, I canceled because it just DID NOT fit my schedule.

"Pretty consistent roasts"
I’ve been using Beanbox for a bit now, it’s been good overall. The roast level has been fairly consistent from bag to bag, though I guess one of them seemed a little darker than I was expecting. Not a huge deal, though, I’m still happy with it.

"Good coffee, but a little hit or miss"
I’ve enjoyed trying the different coffees, and most of them have been good. My last box showed up around a little later than expected, and one of the bags wasn’t really my taste. Overall, it’s not bad, but for the price, I do wish the picks were about a bit more consistent.

The coffee was totally drinkable and had a nice enough roast to it, but the tasting notes didn’t really line up for me. It mentioned berry and caramel, and I mostly picked up a more bitter, roasted flavor. Not bad by any means, just not quite what I was expecting.

"Good coffee, but a little pricey"
The coffee was nice, honestly. I liked it, and I’d probably drink it again if I happened to be nearby. But for the price, I guess I was expecting something a bit more memorable? Like, it wasn’t bad at all, just not the kind of coffee where you walk away thinking, wow, totally worth it. Maybe I’m just used to cheaper spots, but yeah, good coffee, just not the best value

"Canceling was way more work than it should’ve been"
I tried to pause my Bean Box subscription, but it somehow still shipped anyway. The account page was a mess to figure out, and I had to spend way too much time trying to sort it out. Support took longer than I expected, so I ended up paying for coffee I didn’t even want. it was just too much effort for something that should be simple. I won’t be using it again.

"My order showed up late"
I ordered once and the shipping was late with no real updates along the way. Maybe it was just my experience, but it makes me feel like their deliveries probably don’t show up on time very often

"Neat packaging, everything looked fine"
I mostly paid attention to the box and how it was sealed when it arrived, and it looked neat and secure. I didn’t notice any damage on the parts I checked, so overall it was a smooth experience.

"Delivery took forever and the wording felt misleading"
I ordered a box because the wording made it sound like it would get here in just a few days, but that definitely wasn’t the case. It pretty much sat in shipping forever, which was really frustrating.

The tracking was barely helpful and hardly updated, so I kept having to check it myself like that was going to magically make it move. If delivery is going to take that long, they should just be upfront about it instead of making it seem quicker than it is.
By the time the coffee finally showed up, I didn’t even care anymore. It might taste fine, but the whole delivery experience was disappointing enough that I probably won’t order again

"They keep taking away the coffees I actually like"
I used to really like Bean Box, but lately it’s just frustrating. Every time I find a coffee I actually enjoy, it’s either sold out or magically gone when I try to order it again. At this point it feels like they can’t keep anything good in stock, and that’s on them. I’m tired of checking back over and over just to be disappointed. The selection changes way too much, it’s not worth the hassle anymore.

"Nice grind options and “pretty easy” to use"
I really like that Bean Box lets you choose the grind for a drip coffee maker. That made ordering feel super simple. One of the bags was ground a little finer than I expected, but it still brewed well and tasted good, so no big issue there.

"Checkout was more annoying than it needed to be"
I tried ordering from Bean Box, the checkout process kind of tested my patience. I was thinking, okay great, I’ll just pick my coffee and be done in a few minutes… but then the site started acting weird. I had to re-enter my info twice, which made me wonder if the order was even going through. The delivery date also wasn’t super clear, so I was sitting there like, am I supposed to guess when this is coming? The coffee might end up being great, but the ordering experience was frustrating.

"The “Fancy Gift” Was Underwhelming"
The coffee itself was fine, no complaints there. But the gift presentation? Yeah, that was giving “last-minute box of stuff” more than an actual nice present. For the price, I expected it to feel a little more special, not like the Basic Cardboard Surprise™ showed up at my door.

"Fun way to try different roasters"
I’ve been using Bean Box mostly because I like getting to try coffee from a bunch of different roasters. A few of the bags I’ve received were from places I never would’ve found on my own, and that’s been the most fun part for me.
Not every coffee has been exactly my thing, but I kind of expected that with a variety box. Shipping has been fine, and the rotating picks keep it interesting. I’d probably give it 5 stars if the selections felt a little more tuned to my personal taste.

I did the taste quiz and figured it would get me close, but the coffees they sent just weren’t really my thing. They weren’t bad or anything, just not what I usually like, so it felt like the quiz missed the mark a bit for me

"Got fixed eventually"
So yeah, they did fix the issue in the end. It just took longer than I expected, but it’s fine, I guess. Not a huge deal, just would’ve been nice if it moved a little faster

"Never heard back from customer service"
I reached out twice by email about my order and just never got a response. After a while, it felt like nobody was even checking the inbox. It was frustrating waiting around and not knowing what was going on.

"Coffee tasted old and flat"
I was disappointed with this coffee. The beans smelled kind of stale right out of the bag, and the cups I made came out weak and a little bitter. The weird part is, I tried adjusting how I brewed it a few different times, but it still never tasted fresh
